Woj: Sixers acquire Tony Wroten

Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Sixers have landed 20-year-old guard Tony Wroten from the Grizzlies in return for an unspecified future second-round pick.

Here’s Chad Ford’s draft profile of the 2012 25th overall pick.

Wroten is the most exciting passer in the draft. He might also be the most out-of-control PG in the draft. He’s a great athlete who can get to the basket. But his jump shot is broken. He’s a high-risk, high-reward player. — Chad Ford

Just from that description, it seems as though he’s comparable to Michael Carter-Williams. Like MCW, he’s a 6’6, athletic guard who attacks the basket. Also like MCW, Wroten’s jump shot is a work in progress. The Sixers have cornered the market on combo guards who can’t shoot.

It’s another low-risk addition that I, along with Grantland’s Zach Lowe, can support.
